To Our Valued Community Tenants:
We hope this letter finds you all safe and healthy. Please take a moment to read through our Fall and Winter seasonal reminders.
Home Maintenance:
This is the time to walk around the outside of your home to inspect your siding and skirting for any damage. Holes in skirting will allow animals access to your home’s underbelly where they can cause major issues. Any damaged skirting must be replaced. Please contact our Nevada Office at 515-382-2020 to purchase skirting at discounted prices. Park approved skirting is Trugard brand for white vertical skirting, and EverRock vinyl stone skirting in gray or brown. Wood sheds must be painted and in good repair.
Lawn Refuse:
Make sure your lawn is raked and free of sticks and leaves. As a courtesy, we will haul away any lawn clippings, sticks and leaves that are bagged and brought to the curb. Dog waste is to be picked up daily and properly disposed. DO NOT put dog waste in your lawn refuse bags. As a reminder, any clean up or home maintenance we are requesting is required by park policies.
Windows:
Check your windows for leaks and make any necessary repairs. Do not install clear plastic on the exterior of your home.
Furnaces:
It is very important to have your furnace inspected by a qualified service technician, prior to the heating season. Furnace filters need to be changed or cleaned at this time. Test and change batteries in smoke/fire/carbon monoxide detectors at this time.
Water Lines:
Check your heat tape! Check your heat tape! Check your heat tape!
Now is the time to check your heat tape to make sure it is working properly. Be sure your faucets aren’t dripping and your toilets aren’t running. Slow leaks will lead to frozen sewer pipes. DO NOT LET YOUR FAUCETS RUN SLOWLY DURING COLD WEATHER. Disconnect your garden hose from your outside faucet. Leaving it connected in freezing temperatures can lead to ruptured water lines.
Selling Your Home:
If you will be selling your home, contact your community manager. We will do an exterior inspection. Any inspection items will need to be completed prior to sale. All potential buyers must go through our application process, and be approved by management prior to sale. Our application can be accessed at our website, wwwflummerfelthomes.com.
